The Ledger
Public, uneditable record of compute, chips and launches.
The Ledger is a public, uneditable record created under The Compact. Its genesis block posted at 11:00:00 UTC on 18 March 2033, and it logs every chip, large training run and heavy launch on Earth.
Overview
Each Ledger entry gives a UTC time, a K reading, a place, the event type, casualties and notes. The Ledger keeps UTC by its own clock. Member-state validators and independent institutions each hold a full copy and vote on every block. The registrar plans to load older records back to the first grid logs.
Recorded K readings: 0.732 (2029), 0.734 (March 2031), 0.735 (October 2032), 0.729 on day two of the Seven-Day Dark, and 0.736 at genesis (March 2033).
Background
The first independent validator to vote was the Velle Maritime Foundation of Korvane, approved at 04:12 UTC on genesis day; its vote was yes.
History
Episode 10 Geneva

Trivia
- Each episode opens with a Ledger entry as its epigraph.
- Entries dated before the Ledger's 2033 genesis appear in the episode epigraphs, consistent with the registrar's plan to load older records.
